Yelkaya Wind Farm
Manisa / Akhisar
72 MW with 24 turbines in Akhisar, Manisa; the pilot site of our bird monitoring programme.
Yelkaya wind farm was commissioned in 2018 on ridges north of the Gediz Basin. Its 24 turbines generate about 221 GWh a year.
A three-year collision study carried out with a university ornithology group provided the basis for the monitoring protocol of all later projects.
