About Us

Kuzeyyel Enerji began in 2009 when three engineers set up a wind measurement station in Ayvacık, Çanakkale. Our first wind farm, Çakmaktepe, came online in 2013; today we operate 591 MW with 177 turbines across nine sites. Annual generation has reached 1.9 TWh.

What we do

We measure the wind resource, develop projects, arrange financing, have the farm built and then operate it with our own crews for 25 years and beyond. A trading desk balances our output between the spot market, the YEKDEM scheme and corporate green power agreements.

Ownership

Kuzeyyel Enerji Generation Inc. is owned by domestic institutional investors, a pension fund and the founding partners. Projects are financed with long-term loans from international development banks.

Our head office is in Bayraklı, Izmir; the field control centre and maintenance base are in Çanakkale, with a spare-parts warehouse in Bandırma. Of our 214 employees, 138 work on site.
